The definition of hoopla, according to Webster’s, is “excitement surrounding an event or situation, especially when considered to be unnecessary fuss.”

Let the Hoopla begin!

It all starts at Devil’s Backbone September 29-October1st. And what an event it is! The DB website describes their event this way, “Hoopla is a festival to bring folks together to craft an adventure!”

The Hoopla Lineup at Devil’s Backbone This Year

This festival offers so many activities we can’t possibly list them all, but we’ll try to give you a taste. To see complete details, go to the Devil’s Backbone website and scroll down to “Adventures.”

The cool thing about the Hoopla Festival is its focus. Every Adventure celebrates the seven values that creates the culture around Devil’s Backbone.

Hoopla Musical Line Up

  • Passion
  • Beer Positive
  • Family
  • Humility
  • Stewardship
  • Integrity

From guided family hikes, mountain bike rides, face painting and fairy lantern making, to tie dye workshops, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Camp out and enjoy the outdoor activities and workshops or stay for the day. All of the adventures are free to ticket holders, except for the Beer Dinner, and they benefit the Nelson County Food Pantry.

With the Blue Ridge Mountains as the backdrop and Fall’s crisp air, this celebration could be the best time you’ll have all year!

Incredible Line Up of Musical Talent

Hoopla always outdoes itself with the music line up. Bottom line, there is no shortage of truly great music!

With 100 acres of beauty, Devil’s Backbone creates the perfect landscape for a fun weekend.

Saturday Night’s Beer Dinner

Because Devil’s Backbone is all about community, Saturday Night’s Beer Dinner also benefits Jason Oliverthe Nelson County Food Pantry.

While you’re helping a good cause, you’ll also enjoy a multi-course Beer Dinner with DB’s very own brewmaster, Jason Oliver.

Prior to dinner, Chef Frank Debons will tease your taste buds with samplings of locally sourced and house made appetizers while you appreciate the view from the Summit Deck of the Meadows Main Stage.

Come for a day or for the weekend!

There’s plenty of fun and entertainment to go around. The Iris Inn is the perfect complement to the Devil’s Backbone Hoopla Festival. Make your lodging reservations here.
